Flying free?

Konnichiwa,

So, it is Tuesday once again, and things seem to be going as slow as usual.
Uni work is pilling up as we approach the middle of the semester, and my time wasting skills seem to be getting a bit of a work out.....
Does anyone know of any good study tips? I mean sure there is probably a generic list such as exercise and sleep well, but I would like to know of any quirky methods that you use to help you study...

I guess it is back to the books

  1. In uni I learnt to skim read. My Dad told me that if you read the first and last sentence of each paragraph, you generally got the gist of what was going on. Similarly, the first and last paragraph of each section are important. The concluding paragraph should sum it all up.

It doesn't always work. There are some things you just have to read all the way through. In some cases you have to read the same sentence a few times over.

I learnt not to worry if I didn't understand a word. Just keep reading and you get the idea eventually.

In terms of hints about good study habits, I can't help. During uni I started watching so much tv that I got hooked on Days of our Lives! How embarrassing! I became very good at wasting time, but still had to exercise discipline.

My wife, Debbie was the best at leaving everything til the last minute and cramming at the end.

    All the best...
